Research Summary
Our work involves building transport molecules to carry anti-Parkinson's drugs to the intercellular compartments of the brain. Many potential anti-Parkinson's drugs are rendered useless because they cannot cross the blood/brain barrier (BBB) that protects the brain from possible harmful chemicals that may enter the bloodstream. These transport agents are designed to overcome the BBB and increase the potential for the application of a wide variety of new treatments.
